Royal Palace: The Raja Maligawa or Royal Palace of the last King of Kandy, Sri Vikrama Rajasinha, is situated at the foot of the Udavattakele forest in the eastern corner of the city not far from the Temple of the Tooth. The palace consists of a long rectangular building with an impressive hall. Other ancillary buildings include the Meda Vasala or Queens Chamber situated to the South-East of the Palace and the Antahapura or harem situated behind the Dalada Maligawa.
